HAYDEN KING
At 21 years old, Temby Artist Hayden King is fast becoming one of the most in demand trumpet players in Adelaide, South Australia. Performing on his hand assembled trumpet by David Temby, King plays in almost any style from Classical to Jazz and Pop, he is often called upon for his incredible versatility.
Hayden first picked up a trumpet at the age of 8, progressing quickly and at 12 years old was awarded a scholarship to attend Marryatville High School, one of four special interest music schools in South Australia. Highlights of his high school career include playing 1 st trumpet in the award-winning Big Band One, who placed first in the Division 1 National Stage Band Competition 2 years running (2011-2012).
In 2013 Hayden began studying a Bachelor’s Degree in Classical Performance at the Elder Conservatorium. Upon entry to the Con, he was awarded a position in the performance extension program, which enables a select few musicians to further their studies in an intensive, performance focused setting. Over the course of the degree Hayden was lucky enough to study with some of the finest musicians from around the world. This included masterclasses with Dave Elton (Principal Trumpet, Sydney Symphony Orchestra) and Hedley Benson (Scottish BBC Orchestra).
Since graduating in December 2015, Hayden has quickly established himself as a highly regarded performer and educator.
